In current world almost every country is moving to become digital country, and most of the countries have successfully became digital country. In past few years the number of internet users is  highly increased. Increasing the number of  users is the current need of situation. Day by day every small or large business community is trying to communicate with costumers on online platform. Online banking, online study, online shopping, social media etc are the services which made our daily life very easy. So as we are strongly using the internet and our many data or information is stored on the internet, in which some data or information is very sensitive for our life and we must need to protect this. 

The way of protecting our electronic data or private information, computer networks, mobile devices from the malicious attacks and hackers is  known as the Cyber security. Some harmful malware virus can give a harmful impact to our systems hardware.Basically cyber security is all about to defending our systems(mobile or computer) and networks from the theft.

Cyber criminals are those who use someones personal data or information for making money on digital platform. To become rich it is a way to thieve someones information.In simple words we can say that the criminals are thieving our personal data and they are using it to make money in various ways suppose like to blackmail someone, bank robbery, social media account hack, influencing someone in social media etc. 

Some common cyber crimes :

• Illegal Hacking:- Hacking is very common and affected cyber crime. hacking means thieving someones personal data and use for own purpose. In 2013-2016 almost 3 billion yahoo users account was hacked. So we can understand it is a very serious issue. In last few year many facebook, tweeter users also faced this problem.
• Phishing:- Phishing means sending misleading messages via email or any other platform to gather some personal data from users. In this method the criminals try to establish a good communication with the user. They send attracting messages suppose like a message from bank, a note from company, a bumper lottery wining message and click this link to get reward etc. phishing is the one of the oldest method in cyber crime history.
•  Net Banking fraud :- Around 80% cyber crime is related with banking. Net banking is very highly demanded service by the users. Net banking made our work very easy but there is some risk because fraudsters gather some private details by phishing or any other method , and then they can easily handle our account. OTP(one time password) is generated on the computer or any electronic communication device to protect the users from any financial loss.

• In 80% of the banking fraud cases the main reason of fraud is OTP sharing with unknown person.
• Almost  4 billion passwords have been hacked in recent years.
• Almost 50% peoples use same passwords for multiple accounts on Internet.
• In most of the cases the fraudsters targets the new user.
• Around 35% peoples uses the special dates suppose like birthday, marriage day etc as password. 
• October is a cyber security month.

Precautions for a user :-

• Users should not discuss any personal details with anyone.
• Users should not share there OTP with a unknown or untrusted person.
• Always use different passwords for different type of accounts.
• Change passwords in every 2 months.
• Don't click any link send by any unknown person or any untrusted source.
• Don't post any private details or plan on any social media platforms.
