Durga Puja or Navaratri celebration in India



Durga puja or Durgotsava is one of the most famous and celebrating festival in India. Durga puja is also known as Navaratri. Navratri is also known as the largest celebrating hindu festival. It is known that there was a devil, whose name was Mahishasur. He was very mighty and bad who was distroying the earth. At that time Goddess Durga who is sign of the power, killed that evil and save the earth from every evil power, from that time we worship Goddess Durga. Puja is a hindi word which means worshiping.In this post we will read about some special style of celebration of this festival across all over India. Navaratri is 9 days festival that's why we call this one if the largest celebrating hindu festival. After the nine days celebration of navaratri tenth day is celebrated as the Vijayadashami or dussehra. The style of celebration of this festival is different or special in some states. .So we will discuss about the some famous places in India where the celebration of this festival is most famous.

States in India where this festival is celebrated very uniquely :-



West Bengal 

Durga Puja is the most famous festival in West Bengal. In this festival the decoration,lighting and the environment of this state is very unique. Bengali peoples celebrate this festival in there traditional style. Every year they waited for this festival. Every locality builds there own pandals and decorates it with there love. In this festival they eats lots of sweets like rassogulla and sondesh which is the most famous sweet in this state. Temples like Kalighat and Dakshineshwar is decorated with the best art of the artists. This festivals vibes is felt by every human who lives in this state. Another beauty of this festival and people of this state is that they uses a unique instrument Dhak for the music in this festival. People makes a wonderful tasty bhog( food for the Goddess ) and distribute it into people. The treditonal dance, music of dhak  and love for this festival makes the celebration more enjoyable. 



Gujarat :-

Gujarat is another beautiful state in India. Gujarat is very famously known for its food and for its Navaratri celebration. Devotees worship Devi Durga by fasting for whole day. In the whole festival the people of Gujarat organizes a Dandia or Garba dance function. Dandia and Garba both are the traditional dance form of Gujarat. Every year in navaratri mahotsava the whole Gujarat enjoys the 9 days grand celebration.  



Assam :-

There are lots of similarity in Durga puja celebration between West Bengal and Assam. The people of Assam are also very interesting. They builds pandals in every locality or society. Every year they uses unique theme to decorate the pandal. In these 9 days people worship Devi Durga with there love and with there deep feeling of heart. Some peoples worship by fasting whole day. This festival is the one of the biggest festival in this state. To spread happiness many local clubs organizes fair in there respective areas, where people enjoys the different rides, foods, fancy games and many other activities.
 

Bihar :-

Bihar is another wonderful state in India. Generally in Bihar, people celebrates every major festival but the grace of this festival in Bihar is wonderful. People decorates the temple and worship the devi with very purity. Many people feed little girls on the eighth day of the festival. At many place villagers organizes Ramlila. The Ramlila starts from day one and ends on the tenth day which is known as Vijayadashmi. Many people live at the bank of Ganga river for the whole festival.  The sunlight, smell in the air, environment everything is something different from a normal day which spreads joy and happiness among the people.



Delhi :-

Delhi is the capital of India and it is very busy city but the people of Delhi never forgets to celebrate this festival. As like Bihar Delhi peoples also organizes the Ramlila. Every year lots of people goes to view Ramlila with there child and with there. Many society members distributes Prasad(food for the goddess)  among the people. At  many places a function organized by the people for whole night where they worship the goddess for whole night, which is called Jagrata.



Karnataka :-

Karnataka is a wonderful clean and beautiful state. In the whole state the navaratri is celebrated very well in Mysore. Mysore-Palace is the highlighted point in the Mysore. In navaratri the decoration of Mysore-Palace is very beautiful and graceful, which shows the wonderful skills of the local artists. Lighting of this palace is over than one lakh lights on the day of Vijayadashmi. The grand celebration of vijayadashmi is known as Jumbo-Savari.



Uttar Pradesh :-

According to the population, U.P. is the biggest state in the India. The navaratri celebrating style of U.P. is very similar to the Bihar. Many people  moves to the bank of Ganga  river for whole navaratri. Most off the place, people organizes Ramlila. At this time the tourist places becomes very busy. Haridwar,Mathura, Banaras, Prayagraj and places are the highlighted places in this state. Similar like Bihar many people feed little girls for whole festival.



This was a effort by us to describe the beauty of this festival in some states, but it is very hard to describe the feelings, celebration style in different states. So we suggest our viewer to enjoy this festival by visiting these places.

Prem Mandir : Pride of India

 Prem Mandir is a very beautiful hindu temple in Vrindavan,Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh state in India. Prem Mandir is dedicated to God Radha-Krishna and God Sita-Ram.
